ACTIVITIES
———————————————————————-
Its time to see who is the ultimate racer as we take on challenges across a multitude of Mario Kart titles.

–Mario Kart 8 Deluxe–
The newest addition to the Mario Kart family is an enhanced version of the popular game from the Wii U, boasting a new Battle Mode and new racers such as the Inklings from Splatoon.
We will be hosting a 150CC Tournament on the Bell Cup.
Can anyone stop Callum from coming in 1st place AGAIN!?

–Mario Kart Wii–
Details announced soon!

–Mario Kart: Double Dash!!–
Details announced soon!

–Mario Kart 7–
While we wont be seeing a tournament for Mario Kart 7 at this event, why not join us for a Mini Meet at Bar21 on May 14th from 12pm onwards as we give Mario Kart 7 one last hurrah!

–Raffle–
As ever, a raffle will be taking place at the event, will you be lucky enough to win some cool prizes?

REGARDING BAR 21
———-Notice Regarding Food———

Bar21 operates on a principle whereby guests are not permitted to eat/drink outside refreshments while inside the premises. Anyone caught doing so could compromise the event for everyone, not just themselves. So please, if you want to buy lunch or refreshments elsewhere then please consume it before coming back inside!

For the record this includes Bottled Water (it’s a blanket rule to avoid confusion), but tap water is available for free at the bar.

——–Regarding Wheelchair Access——–

Unfortunately Bar21 does not have wheelchair access at present, so people requiring access to events where we are downstairs in Bar21 unfortunately cannot be accommodated at this point. However we are working with Bar21 to improve our events to make them suitable for everyone. So hopefully we can address this issue soon!

FAQ
———————————————————————-

Q – Do I have to pay to attend?
A – Nope! Just turn up on the day, toddle in, plonk yourself down and play some videogames!

Q – Ah, but I bet there’s a fee for the tournaments!
A – Again, nah. There will be prizes up for grabs, don’t you worry, but these are things supplied by ourselves and other generous sponsors, so it’s free to enter.

Q – I want to register for a tournament, how do I register for a tournament?
A – Arrive on the day! We avoid running pre-registration for events just because we don’t want no-shows, and we also don’t want tournaments filling up entirely outside of the event itself.

Q – Are there prizes at all?
A – Maybe. Who Knows? Well alright, we do! We try to ensure we are fair with prizes so whilst it may not always be possible, we always have certificates to hand out to people to say, you are awesome.

Q – I, or someone I’m interested in bringing, is under 18, can they still come?
A – Of course! We’re in a bar, yes, but we’ve got the downstairs to ourselves and there are plenty of soft drinks available. Only thing is, they will need a parent or guardian to remain with them at all times. Bar21 rule, that. We will also say that due to the nature of the likes of Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Some of the language can get, well, fruity, and while attendees do try and keep it toned down when there are youngsters about we can’t be responsible for spontaneous yelps.

Q – How young, though? Like, crying every five seconds young?
A – Our youngest member is actually only just 2, due to mummy and daddy being regulars. But in terms of ‘attendees that can actually hold a 3DS’, one chap called Harlan first came when he was 4 and spent most the day telling one of our organisers how to play Pokémon. I think that speaks for itself.

Q – I want to play this game, I doubt people play this game.
A – Ask! Either here in the event, or over on the StreetPass Manchester group. If you ask then you’ll find out. Oh and if it’s Monster Hunter, then the answer is yes, they do.

Q – Wait, a raffle?
A – Yeah, we do those too. Basically we hold a paid raffle at every major event we do, we get prizes, you pay £1 for a row of tickets (that’s 5 for the mathematicians out there) and you get a chance to win Nintendo related prizes. Simple.

Q – So what about the money you make?
A – Well we have to pay for the staff christmas party somehow. Not really, the money goes right back into buying prizes for the events!

Q – I have a question.
A – Ask away. Down there, though, in the event. Cheers.
